UPDATE / January 2015
Having recently graduated with a Master's degree in Media Arts and Sciences from the MIT Media Lab, I've been traveling for a few months to round off what has been an eventful 2014. I'm now back at work as an independent consultant (MOONLEAP data + insight + design), providing services in data analysis, visualization, storytelling and product design. If you have interesting datasets that can spawn useful stories and tools for the greater good, I'd love to chat with you.

Prior to my life at the Media Lab, I was working as a visualization designer+developer at Nokia Research Center in Palo Alto, California, after having graduated from Georgia Tech with a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction.
Currently time-sharing between Cambridge [US] and Calicut [IN], I was born and brought up in India in the southern state of Kerala, and also spent some time in western India (Gujarat) during my undergrad at DAIICT (fun times!).
My research interests are quite varied, and you'll usually find me spending time trying to work on projects that connects different disciplines -- design, perception, human mind, neuroscience, philosophy, network science, art, physics, .. (you get the drift). In general, my preference is to construct an idea and mould it in my mind first, and then bring it to life using software/hardware/other tools.
if and when procrastinating, I like to watch films (over and over again), follow Arsenal FC's matches and read pretty much anything under the sun. Did I also mention that I find languages and scripts to be very fascinating? So are typefaces.
Even though some of my research work is on cities, when traveling, I like to go to non-urban areas for some peace and quiet. Something about birds, winds and the sky.
Beginning of story.
